Birth of Édouard, who would take over the workshop.
Succession and war
Édouard took over the workshop on his father's death. The account book changed hands.
Birth of Rosaire.
Rosaire left for France. First letter dated 9 March.
Return. The twenty-two letters entered the collection.
The workshop converted to auto mechanics; wedding of Rosaire and Bernadette.
The garage, then the departure
Birth of Gérard.
Birth of Thérèse, today the keeper of the collection.
Gérard left the village to study surveying.
Sale of the workshop. Ninety-four years in the trade came to an end.
The collection
Gérard began gathering papers and photographs scattered among relatives.
Fiftieth-anniversary reunion: the last photograph showing three generations.
Death of Gérard. Thérèse inherited the collection and continued identifying faces.
